Lesson 2 of 8
Composition Before Style
Composition decides where the subject sits, how much space surrounds it and where the viewer looks first.
Active reading
Placement
Center, edge or rule-of-thirds.
Scale
How large is the subject in frame?
Negative space
Where is intentional empty space?
Composition comes before style labels
“Luxury” or “cinematic” does not tell the generator where the product should appear. Composition instructions make the layout more explicit.
For ads and thumbnails, leave space where text or UI elements will later be placed.
Example
Product on the lower-right third, large negative space on the left for headline text.
Quick check
Explain this lesson back in one sentence before continuing. If you cannot, reread the example and key takeaway.
Common mistake
Do not rely on a style word to solve layout problems.
Key takeaway
Describe placement, scale and negative space before adding visual style.
